The Young Stracke All-Stars
"We're not here to practice music. We're here to play it!"
The Young Stracke All-Stars, named after Old Town School founder Win Stracke, came out of the original lack of child musicians participating in the Old Town School’s Wincentennial celebration in 2008. Chris Walz, Wincentenial organizer and one of our biggest supporters once said, “The kids! That’s exactly what is missing.” The Young Stracke All-Stars, consists of students ages nine to thirteen. These are students from group and private classes who have shown a dedication to the ideals of the Old Town School community. While all the musicians in the group are fantastic, being a “great musician” is not a prerequisite. The students who become Young Stracke All-Stars are many things including, dedicated, curious, passionate and enthusiastic about community music.
